New Years Honours

Think Pink Luxembourg (TPL) is delighted to share with you the news that Carrie Cannon has been awarded an MBE in the United Kingdom’s New Year’s Honours for services to cancer patients in Luxembourg.

The MBE, or Member of the Order of the British Empire, is an honour awarded to individuals for outstanding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service. The order was established in 1917 by King George V, giving equal recognition for services rendered in the UK and overseas.

Carrie’s appointment to the Order is a remarkable recognition of her contribution, and importantly, that of all the many TPL Committee Members to the development of the organisation over the past 15 years in its support to those persons and families living with cancer. Carrie will receive the award from King Charles or another member of the Royal family at Buckingham Palace later in 2025.

From the very beginning, TPL has been about community, collaboration, and compassion, working to promote health , fund local research and to provide practical support to the individuals and families living with cancer often far from home, family or traditional support networks, here in Luxembourg.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support, encouragement, and belief of so many individuals.. This award celebrates the collective impact of the efforts and the strength of a community that truly cares.

As we look ahead to the future, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your contributions and commitment. We are inspired every day by the dedication and passion of our team and supporters.

Let’s continue to make a difference together.
