Girls on FIRE - 2023 edition

The origins

It is in the region of Arlon that the very first 100% female cyclo-club in the province was born: "Les Bergeronnettes". Twenty of them took up the challenge of crossing the Netherlands over 400 km for the benefit of Think Pink Belgium. They named their group “Girls on Fire” and it's true that on their bikes they set fire! They are between 27 and 65 years old and have two “victories” in their team. They are cycling fans and motivated to put their muscles and dynamism to the benefit of a noble feminine cause: the fight against breast cancer.

Think pink belgium

In 2022 they joined the challenge organized by Think Pink Belgium and traveled 100 km per day from September 15 to 18. In total, 400 km ridden partly under the wind and the rain.

Of the 68 Belgian participants in this challenge, the “Girls on Fire” were present in large numbers. Sales of pouches, reusable make-up remover wipes, socks, Palix lithographs and various sponsorships enabled them to raise more than €23,645 for the SMART fund, which finances scientific research in screening, treatment and post-cancer breast care.

Huge thanks to their many donors in 2022. The girls enjoyed pedaling for this great cause so much that they will get back to it.
